Nabarangpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged the people of Odisha to ensure that lotus blooms in all the Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. “I request you to vote for the BJP this time and help the lotus (party symbol) bloom in all the 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha,” PM Modi appealed to the electorate while addressing a huge public rally in Chikili in the Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency today.
As in Berhampur, Modi began his speech chanting ‘Jay Jagannath’ and said, “A double-engine government in Delhi and Odisha will help accelerate development works in the state.”
Reiterating that the BJD government in the state will fall in the upcoming Assembly elections in Odisha and a new BJP Chief Minister will take oath in the state capital Bhubaneswar on June 10, Modi said, “I am here to invite you to the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP CM in Bhubaneswar on June 10. He hoped that the people of Odisha would accept his invitation unlike those who declined his invitation for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Praising the Odisha BJP leadership for releasing the ‘Sankalp Patra’ IBJP poll manifesto for Odisha) on Sunday, the Prime Minister said, “They should be lauded for it. The ‘Sankalp Patra’ envisions the rapid progress of Odisha. It has a clear roadmap and initiatives for fulfilling your dreams. The ‘Subhadra Yojana’ is a significant scheme for financially empowering ‘Nari Shakti’ and transforming the lives of women here.”
The Prime Minister added, “The BJP will build ‘Odia Samudaya Bhawan’ in all metro cities in the country for the welfare of Odia people living outside the state. This is Modi’s guarantee. The ‘Sankalp Patra’ also includes assurances for tribals, farmers, women, and unemployed youth. These will be implemented immediately once the BJP forms the government in the state.”
Slamming the Naveen Patnaik government in the state, Modi said, “The BJD government did not allow the schemes initiated by the Centre to be implemented in the state. On the other hand, it put its stamp on a few which were implemented. Modi provides you free and cheap rice but the BJD takes the credit.”
Citing the example of BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister said, “The BJP government there procures paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal but in Odisha, it is only Rs 2,100. That’s why Odisha BJP has announced to buy paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal from the very next day it forms government in the state.”
