New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi assures of help in every way possible for Shree Jagannath International Airport at Puri.
“I have just been with the Prime Minister, our discussion was mainly related to issues about Odisha’s demands. I spoke to him also about the Shree Jagannath International Airport which we want to set up at Puri, the boundary has already been earmarked for the airport. As Bhubaneswar is getting too much traffic now and we definitely want an expansion. And to this, the Prime Minister said he will help in every way possible. That was our main discussion,” informed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Answering to a query from a newsperson on BJD’s stand on same-sex marriage, Patnaik reacted, “I haven’t discussed those matters with the Prime Minister”.
On being asked about his yesterday’s meeting with his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar, Patnaik said that it was Kumar’s courtesy call.
“It went off pleasantly”, he added.
“No, not as far as I am concerned. Not now,” replied Patnaik to a reporter’s query over the possibility of a third front as he (Patnaik) has always held of BJD maintaining equidistance from the BJP and the Congress.
Again, on being posed with a question of whether the BJD will go it alone in the coming elections to Assembly and Lok Sabha, Patnaik remarked, “That is always been our principle”.
