Bhubaneswar: A state-level preparatory meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhavan today, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, to discuss arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhubaneswar on September 17. The PM will launch the ‘Subhadra’ scheme, a state government welfare initiative, at Janata Maidan.
Senior officials, including Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Home Department Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, DGP Y.B. Khurania, BMC officials, Khurdha Collector and others, attended the meeting. Shubha Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, briefed the meeting on preparations for the scheme’s launch.
The State administration is making extensive preparations for the event which expects to draw a large crowd. The Chief Secretary reviewed arrangements and emphasized departmental coordination. The DGP and IGP will oversee law and order, while the District Collector will handle other arrangements.
The chief secretary directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply with additional generators, security, carcade, and healthcare arrangements, drinking water supply and temporary accommodation for the PM, road repair, sanitation, and cleanliness.
Directions were also given for emergency preparedness and barricading, LED lights at various points for public viewing, mobile toilets and bio-toilets along the roads
The Information and Public Relations Department will provide single feed system to the media for live broadcast of the program.
A control room will be made available by the State Department of Home Affairs (Protocol) for more information regarding the visit of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister will arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 11:35 am on September 17 and attend the program at Janata Maidan at 11:55 am before flying back to New Delhi at 3 pm.
