Bhubaneswar: The EOW Odisha arrested two persons involved in a land fraud from Bhubaneswar, two days back. According to the EOW, the duo, Antaryami Senapati (a Moharir/ Advocate-Clerk by profession) and his associate Ananta Kumar Pradhan have been booked under Sections 419/420/ 467/468/471/120-B of the IPC.
One Lipika Das, owner of a plot in Malipada Mouza had filed a complaint with the agency about someone impersonating her and managing to sell off the piece of land. According to the complaint, the accused had sold the land to one Haladhar Das by executing a fraudulent sale deed at the Sub-Registrar office in Khandagiri, the EOW stated.
The agency has stumbled upon eight such frauds committed by the duo in and around Bhubaneswar.
So far eight such land-selling frauds have already come to notice.
“This gang is involved in many other such cases which are being scrutinized by EOW and action would be initiated in all such cases. Whoever has approached Antrayami Senpati or Haldhar Das in connection with land purchase or selling please contact our investigating officer as it is possible that they might have been duped,” the EOW added.
The racket involves the illegal sale/purchase of land by forged documentation and impersonation of the real owners. After the fraudulent sale of the land in favour of the persons of their interest, the accused persons were going to sell it again to other parties.
