Molestation In Sundargarh College: Governing Body Initiates Disciplinary Action

Sundargarh: Taking cognizance of the allegations levelled by a female staff of Sarbati Devi Women’s College in Rajgangpur area in Sundargarh district against the college Principal, a Lecturer, and an Accountant, the Governing Body of the college has initiated disciplinary actions against the trio.

A female employee of the college had alleged critical charges of misbehavior, molestation and racist remarks against the Principal (I/c) Chandramani Patel, Lecturer Sapan Kumar Panda and Accountant Panu Charan Paikray.

Following it the Governing Body of the college has suspended Accountant Paikray, has decided to write to the Department of Higher Education to replace Principal Patel with immediate effect and removed Lecturer Sapan Panda from the post of Administrative Bursar.

The Governing Body has also warned both Patel and Panda to behave properly inside the college. Further, all the staff members have been requested to maintain professional ethics in their job and a healthy atmosphere inside the campus and above all maintain the dignity of the educational institution.

The woman had alleged that Accountant Paikray molested her multiple times but no action was taken against him. Additionally, she also charged Lecturer Panda of making casteist comments frequently. Further, she alleged the Principal Patel of remaining in an inebriated state in the college and taking no action against her complaints.

Losing all hope, she had lodged an online complaint at Sundargarh SP who has promised to look into the matter. However, Principal Patel had denied having knowledge of this matter and asserted that he actually is a teetotaler.
