**Cuttack:** After a newborn was lifted by a monkey from his home as he was sleeping with his parents at Talabasta village in Cuttack’s Banki block, a massive search rescue operation was launched to trace the child. The fire services personnel, forest officials and the police joined hands to find the child.
Three teams of 10 members each is formed who are on the search operation since morning. The villagers and the family members of the missing baby have joined the operation, too.

Meanwhile, the father of the infant Ramakrushna Nayak has prostrated before Lord Hanuman (the monkey God) invoking the divine blessings for the well being and the rescue of his first and only baby. Mother Sarojini Nayak is anxiously waiting for the return of her bundle of joy.
The locals have alleged that there has been a sharp rise in monkey menace in the region and the forest department has not taken any action in this regard despite repeated complaints.
Worth mentioning, several persons were injured in attack by monkeys in the area few days ago. The locals have expressed displeasure over alleged inaction of the Forest Department despite repeated complaints in this regard.
