Bhubaneswar: As Cyclone Vayu’s threat has receded, conditions are now favorable for monsoon to advance after its onset in Kerala since June 8. Soon within 4-5 days, monsoon rains will start lashing Odisha, informed Regional Meteorological Department on Monday.
HR Biswas, Director of Met department said, “In the last 24 hours in Odisha, rainfall and thunderstorm activity increased in south Odisha. In the next 24 hours, rainfall, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds will continue in south interior and north coastal regions.”
“After 48 hours, rainfall activity will increase in south Odisha and in 4-5 days, monsoon will advance into the southern region of the State under favorable conditions. There are chances of low pressure as well and capital city Bhubaneswar will mostly experience partly cloudy sky in the mornings and rains in evening/night,” he concluded.
