More Trouble For Arun Sahoo, NCPCR Seeks Report On Nayagarh Minor Girl’s Murder

Bhubaneswar: The National Commission For Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought a detailed factual report from the Odisha Government on the investigation in the alleged kidnap and murder of a five-year-old girl of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district.

Taking suo moto cognizance of media reports, given the seriousness of the subject the NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo while requesting to ensure speedy investigation has summoned a detailed factual report from the Chief Secretary within ten days of issuance of the letter.

The notice issued to the Chief Secretary states that the report should indicate true & legible copy of age proof of the victim; true & legible copy of the FIR registered in the matter; true & legible copy of MLC/post-mortem report; action taken against the accused; present status of the case; and all the necessary documents related to the matter.

Quoting media reports, NCPCR has stated “5-year-old was reportedly abducted when she was playing outside her residence in the Jadupur village in Nayagarh, Odisha. The couple ran from pillar to post seeking help to trace her, but their desperate pleas were heard neither by police nor by any other administrative officials. Exactly, ten days later, the minor girl’s bones and body chopped in parts, stashed in a sack, was found dumped in the backyard of their house. Child parents suspects Babuli Nayak had murdered their daughter for organs (eyes, kidneys etc..) who is protected by Minister Arun Sahoo”.

Kanoongo has shared the Commission’s letter on his official Twitter handle.
