**Keonjhar:** It seems there is no stopping to child branding in Odisha as yet another hair-raising case came to fore on Thursday in Keonjhar district.
According to reports, a five-year old boy was branded with hot iron by her mother at Panchama village under Daitari police limits when he fell sick due to fever two days ago.
The child was admitted to the Keonjhar district headquarters hospital after his condition deteriorated.
The mother of the child, identified as Gurucharan Kala, branded the head of her son with hot iron when he did not recover from a fever he was suffering from for two days. After his condition became worse, family members of the child admitted him to the district headquarters hospital.
“As fever persisted and he was reeling under severe headache, I opted for the hot iron branding therapy and branded over his forehead,” said Gurucharan Kala, mother of the baby.
“The condition of Kala is fine. The hospital will provide treatment to him free of cost,” said Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Kabindra Prasad Sahu.
