**Balangir**: In the latest incident of human-animal conflict, a rogue wild boar attacked and seriously injured a 9-year-old girl and her mother here on Sunday morning.
The incident took place at Sirabahala village under Tusura police station in the district.
The victims are identified as Kuni Paruaa (33) and her daughter Brundabanti.
The wild animal attacked while they had gone to a nearby jungle to collect flowers.
Following this, the duo was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
The girl’s condition is stated to be critical, sources said.
“The boar first attacked my child and when I tried rescue her the wild animal then jumped on me,” said Kuni while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
