Mother, Daughter Fall From Running Train In Rayagada, Limbs Amputated

Rayagada: In a shocking incident, a woman and her four-year-old daughter sustained critical injures after falling from a running train in Odisha early on Friday morning.

According to reports, the incident took place at the Singapur Road railway station. The victims have been identified as Ratika Chandana and her daughter Hastini Chandana.

The injured mother and the daughter were first rushed to the Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) but later shifted to Berhampur MKCG Medical College and Hospital given as their condition deteriorated.

Ratika Chandana suffered a fracture on her left leg, while her two hands and the other leg were severed in the accident. Hastini Chandana had her right hand and leg amputated.

The mother-daughter duo along with husband Chaitanya Chandana, residents of Kanijhuri in Titlagarh, had gone to attend the last rites of a relative at Jinjili Baadi in Rayagada district two days ago. The accident happened on Friday while they were returning home.
