Keonjhar: Just seven days after her son’s death, martyred CRPF jawan Susant Khuntia’s mother Sundari succumbed at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Friday.
Sundari was reportedly devastated following the death of his son in a naxal attack in Jharkhand. She became unwell out of the blue, and was then treated at the Anandpur hospital.
She was eventually transferred to SCB hospital in Cuttack after her condition continued to worsen, where she passed away.
The body of Sushant Khuntia, a CRPF jawan who was killed earlier on Saturday, was consigned to flames with full state honours at his home town in Anandapur.
The CRPF team had an encounter with naxals in Jharkhand on Friday. The Naxals ambushed the jawans when they were returning from a combing operation.
Constables Sushant Kumar Khuntia and Munna Lal Yadav got injured. While both of them were evacuated, Khuntia lost his life to bullet injuries.
