Cuttack: Kendrapada MP and Ollywood star Anubhav Mohanty alleged his neighbour of hurling abuses at and then manhandling him in a series of tweets posted on early Monday. Additionally, he also alleged Police inaction.
Taking to Twitter, Mohanty accused his neighbour one Manjeet Das of creating ruckus outside his house. When he tried to intervene, Das in a drunken stupor manhandled the actor. Mohanty also alleges that he tried getting in touch with Purighat Police station but in vain. He then contacted the DCP following which the IIC arrived. The officer upon arrival misbehaved with the Kendrapada MP instead, alleges Mohanty. He also accused that the Police let the accused go stating that he had fled to his maternal uncle’s home.

Cuttack DCP Akhileshvar Singh, speaking to media here, said, “I was contacted by the sitting Kendrapada MP regarding the altercation and hence directed the Purighat Police to look into the matter. The Purighat IIC arrived and conducted spot inspection. However, the accused had absconded by then. We also have a written complaint from the MP. The matter is under investigation and further details will unfold later.”
When asked of Mohanty’s allegation of Police misbehaviour, DCP said, “I have no information of any such occurrence and if it has happened we will look into it.”
