Nayagarh: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) managed to escape from Daspalla sub jail on Tuesday. The accused, Himanshu Sekhar Nayak of Narasinghpur, was arrested on charges of killing his wife in 2019.
Nayak, 37, managed to flee when staff was sweeping the area around the main gate of the jail. He was married to a woman from Chamundia in Gania in Nayagarh district.
The jail administration has initiated an inquiry into the case. Jailor, Manas Ranjan Samanta has filed a complaint with Daspalla police in this connection.
