**Bhubaneswar ** The body of a 25-year-old man was recovered from a private hotel at Ashok Nagar area within Capital police limits on Tuesday evening. The man has been identified as Gouri Shankar Tanti of Baunshagada village in Boudh.
Capital police have detained Tanti’s cousin Saroj Bhavsagar who was residing with him in the same room. Police suspects him to be the accused and have started their investigation.
Notably, Gouri and Saroj had reached Bhubaneswar on Tuesday morning. They booked a room at Tara Residential in Ashok Nagar. After checking in, Saroj felt uneasy and was taken to hospital by Gouri Shankar. After a while, they returned back to the hotel room, according to the sources.
There was an argument between them in the afternoon after which Saroj had come to the lobby. He was there for a long time sitting all alone. In the evening, he called the police by the help of a waiter and informed them about the incident.
After the arrival of the police, Saroj took them to the room, where the body of Gouri Shankar was lying in a pool of blood.
“The police has informed the family members and the accused is being interrogated. But the motive behind the murder is still not known. It seems as if they had prior enmity and the the murder was pre-planned. We will reach to a conclusion only after a proper investigation is conducted,” said Satyabrata Bhoi, DCP, Bhubaneswar.
