Mutilated Bodies Of Couple Recovered From Railway Tracks In Koraput District

Bhubaneswar: A couple was found dead on the railway track near Laxmipur railway station in Koraput district, on Wednesday morning. However, it was yet to be ascertained whether they died by suicide or were hit by a moving train.

The bodies of Buru Khura (58) and his wife Yamuna Khura (54) from Burja village were recovered in a mutilated state.

According to locals, they spotted the mutilated bodies of the couple near the railway station and informed police. On a tip-off, Lakshmipur police rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation.

It is learnt that the couple left behind two sons and a daughter. The exact circumstances surrounding their death remain unclear, sparking speculation about whether it was a murder or a suicide.

Meanwhile, police have sent the bodies for autopsy to determine the cause of death. Family members identified the bodies, and police are investigating possible reasons behind the tragic incident.

Besides, police are investigating all angles, including family disputes and potential foul play.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with locals demanding a thorough investigation.
