Cuttack: In a bid to avoid the traffic cops, a motor cycle oversped and hit a two wheeler; resulting in a female pillion rider fracturing her hand. The incident occurred near Judicial Academy building at CDA Sector 1 on Thursday.

As per reports, the lady had taken lift from a youth who was without a helmet. When they neared a signal near the Judicial Academy building, they tried to over speed so that the traffic cops will not be able to catch them. Unluckily for them, a scooter rider coming from other side, again without helmet, was also way beyond the permitted speed limit in bid to avoid the cops. They met in an unfortunate accident which resulted in the woman fracturing her hand.

In the video, we can see bystanders and traffic police helping the woman to an autoricksaw. She was sent to the nearest hospital. The motor cycle rider also suffered minor injuries and was helped by his friends.

With implementation of New Motor Vehicle Act (2019), the fine amount has multiplied five to ten times. Onlookers said that the irresponsible attempt to slip from the Traffic Policemen resulted in the accident.
