Bhubaneswar: DJ Azex, aka Akshay Kumar, one of the most popular new generation DJs of Odisha, was found dead in mysterious circumstances at his residence Kharabela Nagar in Bhubaneswar on Saturday evening.
Police seized his body and sent it for postmortem. Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police have launched a probe to find the reason behind the death of the DJ. Preliminary investigation suggests that he committed suicide in his room as he was found hanging from the ceiling. His uncle, however, ruled out the possibility of the DJ committing suicide.
According to his uncle, Azex was inside his room when the city witnessed a thunderstorm last evening. Family members said, “There was a power cut during a thunderstorm on Saturday and Azex was in his room. When we went to call him at around 10.00 pm, we found his door closed. Later, we found his body hanging after we broke open the door.”
Other family members were also in the house when he went and locked his room. When power was restored at around 10 pm and they went to call him, his door was locked. We broke it open and found him hanging, he added.
Family members rushed DJ Azex to the Kar Hospital in the capital city where doctors declared him dead. After that, his uncle reported the incident to the police. Kharavel Nagar police are investigating the case.
