Bhubaneswar: The capital city witnessed two mysterious deaths on Friday night, leaving the police and residents stunned. In two separate incidents, a woman’s body was recovered from the Barmunda bus stand, while a medical student was found dead in his hostel room at Patia.
The police have launched investigations into both cases, but the circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear.
According to sources, some passengers spotted the body of a woman at the Barmunda bus terminal and informed the police. Upon being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the deceased woman was a resident of Sorada area in Ganjam district. She had booked a ticket to travel to Sorada last night along with a young man. However, the circumstances surrounding her death are still unclear.
The police are trying to identify the woman and trace the young man who was accompanying her. Further investigation is underway to unravel the mystery behind her death.
In a separate incident, the body of a student preparing for MBBS was recovered from his hostel room at Patia in the state capital.
According to sources, Arnab Krishna, a native of Dhanbad in Jharkhand, was pursuing medical coaching in the capital city. He was staying in a private hostel in Patia, where he was found hanging from the ceiling. The police found a plastic rope around his neck, and his feet were touching the ground. Bloodstains were also spotted near his feet.
Chandrasekharpur police recovered the body and initiated an investigation into the incident. The exact circumstances surrounding Arab’s death are still unclear.
