Jharsuguda: Gopal Krushna Das, the accused in the Odisha Health Minister Naba Kisore Das murder, was sent to jail custody on Monday. He was produced in the JMFC court here on the last day of the third phase of police remand at the 2nd Battalion of the Jharsuguda OSAP today and the court sent him to Jharsuguda Sub-Jail.
The Odisha Crime Branch, which is investigating the Naba Das murder, brought Gopal from Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Sunday midnight following the completion of a series of narcoanalysis and polygraph tests on him there.
After the remand period ended today after the Crime Branch submitted all documents, including the results of the narcoanalysis and polygraph tests, in the JMFC court and did not seek further remand of Gopal. Henceforth, the accused was sent to the Jharsuguda Sub-Jail.
It is worth mentioning here that the accused ASI shot at Naba Das when he had been to attend a programme in Brajrajnagar in Jharsuguda on January 29 last. The minister breathed his last on the same day in a Bhubaneswar hospital.
Later, Gopal Das was again taken to the court for proceedings of the case.
