Jharsuguda: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court here today allowed the Crime Branch to take prime accused in Minister Naba Das murder case, dismissed Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police Gopal Krishna Das on another four-day remand.
The Crime Branch which is investigating the case had sought to take Gopal Krishna Das on a further remand of nine days. However, the court allowed the Crime Branch to take accused Das on remand for another four days.
The earlier four-day custodial remand of Das granted by the JFMC Court ended today.
Minister Das was murdered in broad daylight on January 29, when he was in Brajarajnagar’s Gandhi Chowk to attend a party programme. He was shot point blank by Gopal, airlifted from Jharsuguda in a critical condition and breathed his last in the evening at Apollo Hospitals in Bhubaneswar.
