Bhubaneswar: Accused Gopal Krishna Das had a prolonged history of mental illness. Due to the mental ailment of the accused a Special Medical Board was constituted consisting of four Psychiatric experts. The board examined him and carried out the analysis at Jharsuguda, the Crime Branch stated today.
On the other hand, the Crime Branch had moved the court of JMFC-1, Jharsuguda, seeking permission for Gopal’s medical examination at NIMHANS in Bengaluru. However, the court has rejected the prayer, the CB stated.
“Since the Board opined that there is a need to have detailed examination of the accused to come to a definite conclusion about his mental health, the Crime Branch will move a higher forum praying for the examination at NIMHANS,” the Crime Branch stated.
A medical board comprised of four doctors who had previously examined and evaluated psychological / mental condition of the accused. “We have applied the certified copy of the order, after availing the certified copy, the same will be examined by the legal cell Crime Branch and if so required CID-CB will move the higher forum,” the CB stated.
