Nabarangpur: In a bid to reduce mental pressure on children while visiting police stations and create a conducive atmosphere for them, a children-friendly area has been created inside the premises of the Nabarangpur model police station here.
The children-friendly area inside the model police station premises was inaugurated by DIG (South-Western) Rajesh Pandit last Thursday.
Apart from Nabarangpur SP Purushottam Das, all officers of the police station were present during the function.
The children-friendly area has a variety of toys and games and a library with a whole lot of books to keep the kids engaged in a creative manner.
The SP has said that a similar children-friendly area will be created in Umerkote police station and subsequently in all other police stations of the district.
The people of Nabarangpur district have welcomed the initiative and have hoped that it will be extended to other police stations in the district in the near future.
