Nabarangpur Ornament Vendor Looted At Knifepoint, Injured

Nabarangpur: Unidentified miscreants have allegedly robbed a local businessman at knifepoint and have also injured him last evening following which a case has been registered with the Raighar Police Station (PS) in the district here.

The victim has been identified as Asharam Gond of Mahubhata village under Parua panchayat.

As per Asharam’s FIR, he deals in gold and silver ornaments at the weekly markets of Raighar town, Beheda, Chatori and Gona villages. Accordingly, he had been to Gona weekly market yesterday (Thursday) and was returning home on his bike with the ornament box tied to it.

Four masked miscreants brandishing knives waylaid him between Bharasundi and Chhatabeda villages and tried to loot his ornament box from the bike. While they fled the spot with the booty, Asharam sustained injury on his stomach in the scuffle.

Raighar police is investigating into the case.
