**Ganjam**: The cashier of Notified Area Council Office of Aska, Ganjam was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1800 from a complainant.
The accused, Dwarikanath Padhi was caught seeking bribe from Manasi Rani Sahoo for release of a cheque of Rs 18400 towards her arrear payment and Rs 6520 towards her survey work. Both hand wash and shirt pocket wash of Padhi gave positive chemical reaction that confirmed the misdeed.
A case has been registered in the name of the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988. As per sources, he will be arrested soon and the matter will be forwarded to Berhampur Vigilance P.S.
