Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, is scheduled to visit AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s journey of growth and excellence.

According to an official press release issued by AIIMS Bhubaneswar, the Minister will inaugurate the Central Research Laboratory, a state-of-the-art facility designed to significantly boost the research capabilities of the institute. This advanced lab is expected to empower doctors, researchers, and scholars in developing innovative healthcare solutions and conducting impactful medical research.

Speaking ahead of the visit, Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas emphasized that the new laboratory will provide a substantial boost to scientific discovery and translational research in the region.

In another major development, the Union Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Multiutility (Gastronomy) Block, envisioned to serve the growing needs of students, faculty, staff, and the public. This modern infrastructure aims to alleviate space constraints while offering a variety of essential services under one roof, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and community engagement at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

As part of his itinerary, Nadda will also launch the newly designed AIIMS Bhubaneswar website, featuring improved accessibility, user-friendly interfaces, and several digital public services.

Additionally, the Minister will inaugurate the EHS Clinic and AMRIT Pharmacy, initiatives aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services and affordable medicines.

The visit will conclude with a comprehensive review meeting, during which the Union Minister will assess ongoing developments, inspect facilities, and interact with the institute’s leadership and staff. This engagement underscores the government’s steadfast commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and service delivery across the nation.

Welcoming the Union Minister, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating: “AIIMS Bhubaneswar continues to march ahead on the path of excellence under the visionary guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the dynamic leadership of Shri Nadda Ji. His support has been instrumental in shaping the growth trajectory of this national institute.”
