Bhubaneswar: Basanti, the oldest elephant at Nandankanan Zoological Park, has fallen ill again.
According to reports, the elderly female elephant is experiencing digestive issues and has not been eating properly. Despite treatment from Nandankanan’s veterinarians, Basanti’s health has not shown any significant improvement.
Meanwhile, a technical committee of health specialists visited the zoo on Tuesday and administered saline and injections to Basanti as part of her ongoing treatment.
The zoo authorities are concerned about Basanti’s health, and the treatment is being closely monitored.
Basanti’s age and digestive issues have made her a high-risk case, and the zoo authorities are working to ensure her speedy recovery.
