Bhubaneswar: The firefighters rescued an eight-year-old boy after he had accidentally slipped into a canal near Kalindrabad village, coming under Jajpur Sadar police limits, on Wednesday morning.
As per reports, the juvenile boy, identified as Biswa Ranjan Sahu (8), son of Ramesh Chandra Sahu of Kalindrabad hamlet, Khairabad Panchayat, had accidentally slipped into the canal while going to attend nature’s call near the canal embankment. The boy was swept away from the shore with a strong flow of water in the canal.
On learning about the incident, locals informed the firefighting department.
The firefighters with the help of villagers were able to trace the missing boy from the canal, after an intense search operation.
After a successful rescue, the boy was quickly rushed to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
