Bhubaneswar: Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts, Pradeep Bala Samanta inaugurated the National Handloom Expo at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in the city today.
The National Handloom Expo will continue till April 1. The Expo will be open to the public from 11:30 am to 9 pm.
Popular handloom textiles from different parts of Odisha such as Sambalpuri, Sonepuri, Bomkai, Khanduapata, Maniabandhi, Habaspuri etc. will be available in this exhibition.
The main attraction of the visitors will be the Karuna silk garments. Along with the hand woven garments of Odisha, the exhibition will feature handloom garments like Jamdani and Tangail of West Bengal, Pashmina shawls of Jammu and Kashmir, Kanjibvaram silk of Tamil Nadu, furnishing garments from Delhi and Haryana, and silk sarees from Karnataka.
