Jharsuguda: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday campaigned for Deepali Das (daughter of slain Minister Naba Kisore Das) who is contesting the Jharsuguda bypoll on BJD ticket.
The CM started his speech by paying tributes to Veer Surendra Sai and offering condolences to Naba Das who he said was a very popular leader, a competent MLA and Minister.
“Naba Babu is no more with us but his daughter Deepali has come forward to take up the responsibility of her Late father. I am sure if she gets the opportunity, she will serve the people of Jharsuguda from her heart,” the CM said.
BJD believes in the development and empowerment of women, farmers, and youths, he further said.
In terms of industrialisation, Jharsuguda has created a different identity for itself. I am sure in the coming days, the city will be the hub of industrialisation in the country, Naveen added.
The CM expressed pain saying that election campaigning should not be dirty. “We should not hurl abuses on candidates. This had happened in Padampur and this has again happened in Jharsuguda.”
“Deepali is a daughter of the soil and she will serve Jharsuguda well. So vote for Deepali Das on the conch symbol,” Naveen concluded.
