Bhubaneswar: The victory of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the recently concluded three-tier panchayat polls has set new records. The BJD has scaled victory in western, coastal, northern and southern Odisha, convincingly, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday. The BJD supremo dedicated this win to the people of Odisha and workers of the BJD.
Today, the BJD president held a meeting with the party MPs, MLAs, district presidents and observers to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming Urban body polls. “People of Odisha have bestowed confidence and trust on us, yet again. We need to work harder to continue to have the blessings and love of the people,” said Naveen.
“I thank the workers of BJD and our well-wishers who have made relentless efforts sacrificing their comforts to ensure that people are aware of programmes and policies of the Government.”
Naveen cautioned his party colleagues to be watchful of any canards by opposition parties during campaigns for the urban polls. “To defame the Government, false stories were spread and negative politics was done. They will continue the same during urban polls. We need to unmask such people,” the BJD supremo added.
Naveen added that his party believes in positive politics, transformative governance and empowerment of the common man. “It is not just the money power, in a strong democracy, the real power comes from people behind you, and their trust.”
