Naveen Describes BJD As Peoples’ Movement For Empowerment

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik today proclaimed that his party has now become a peoples’ movement, a movement for empowerment.

Naveen quoted his father Biju Patnaik “Don’t be loyal to me but be loyal to the cause of Odisha’s destiny”.

“True to his words BJD has now become a peoples’ movement,” said Naveen addressing party men at a function organized on the occasion of BJD’s 23rd Foundation day at the party’s State headquarters here today.

“BJD is not just a political party dependent on any particular leader, including me, for its survival and growth. It is a movement for Odisha’s empowerment and is rooted in the faith of 4.5 crore Odias,” Naveen stated.

He said that they consider the 4.5 crore people of Odisha as their family

“Hence we do not see power as a means to rule or administer but as a great opportunity to serve our family with integrity and commitment,” the BJD president suggesting it to be the talisman of his party.

The BJD president claimed that they do not work to win elections rather work to win the hearts of the people and added that they work 365 days in a year.

“By following these principles, the BJD will be the image/identity of Odisha’s development and the symbol of our peoples’ faith and aspirations,” he said.

Naveen while wishing his family of 4.5 crore a happy and prosperous new year congratulated the lakhs of party workers for their sacrifice and hard work and described it as the oxygen for the party which is also crucial for its strength.
