Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday launched ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ scheme in Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Malkangiri districts.
Launching the scheme through video conference, Patnaik said it will strengthen the infrastructure with focus on every village and every Panchayat in the state.
The CM sanctioned Rs 90.50 cr for four Assembly constituencies in Mayurbhanj. These constituencies are – Jashipur, Karanjia, Saraskana and Rairangpur. The funds will be utilised to implement 2427 projects in 181 gram panchayats of 13 blocks of these constituencies.
Similarly, Rs 69 crore has been sanctioned for three constituencies of Rairakhol, Rengali, and Kuchinda in Sambalpur district for execution of 1801 development projects in 138 gram panchayats of 9 blocks of these constituencies.
Besides, Rs 55.50 crore has been sanctioned for two constituencies of Chitrakonda and Malkangiri in Malkangiri district for implementation of 1430 projects in 111 gram panchayats of these constituencies.
Under the scheme, every Panchayat will get Rs 50 lakh for the development of digital infrastructure, strengthening of Odia culture and conservation of Jagannath culture.
Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said the main objective of the scheme is to develop digital infrastructure in villages. The villagers will get internet and banking services. Science Park, skill development centres will be set up and the villages would become work hub, the CM added.
Patnaik further said the primary schools of villages would be roped in this programme.
It would bring a lot of opportunities for youths, women, and students and further brighten the identity of Odisha as a modern, progressive, empowered, and cultured state.
The Chief Minister sought the cooperation of all for the successful implementation of the programme.
People in four Assembly constituencies of Mayurbhanj, three constituencies of Sambalpur and two constituencies of Malkangiri were present in large numbers in the functions organised today for the occasion.
Nabin Odisha and 5T chairman VK Pandian, who coordinated the event, said that the transformation program has created great enthusiasm among the people.
Pandian said that the chief minister has started a new era of transformation in Odisha in his fifth term. He has presented five gifts to the women.
These are —meal for Rs 5, Rs 5,000 assistance to pregnant women under Mamata Yojana, travel for Rs 5 in LAccMI bus, interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh to Mission Shakti members and health insurance of Rs 5 lakh more for women under BSKY.
In this program, Ministers Sudam Marndi and Basanti Hembram, MLAs Rohit Pujari, Purna Chandra Baka along with ZP chairman and members, Block Chairmen, local Sarpanchs participated in the event through video link.
Participating in the program from Saraskana Minister Sudam Marndi said that if there is any place in the country where there is immense opportunity for women and girls to move forward it is Odisha.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, women in Odisha are being empowered and moving forward on the path of development, he added.
Taking part in the program at Karanjia, Minister Basanti Hembram said that this program has laid the foundation for building the best Odisha.
All the local leaders said that all the proposals that were taken by the 5T chairman during the district visits were resolved in just 7 days.
Such an experience is completely new and rare for us. That is why the Chief Minister is the most loved person of 4.5 crore Odias, they said.
