Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the Indian Women’s Hockey Team on their 1-0 victory over Italy, securing their spot in the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers final and qualifying for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026. Manisha Chauhan’s 40th-minute dragflick sealed the win, and they’ll now face England in the final.

Notably, the Indian women’s national field hockey team has successfully qualified for the Hockey World Cup 2026 after a narrow 1-0 victory over Italy in the semi-final of the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers held at the GMC Balayogi Hockey Stadium in Hyderabad. Manisha Chauhan scored the crucial goal in the 40th minute, propelling India into the final where they are set to face the England women’s national field hockey team.
