Bhubaneswar: In a powerful address at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) State Council Meeting, Naveen Patnaik, re-elected as the party president, expressed profound gratitude to party members for their unwavering trust and reaffirmed his dedication to serving Odisha. Patnaik’s speech underscored the party’s enduring commitment to the state’s progress, rooted in the ideals of legendary leader Biju Patnaik.
Patnaik extended a warm welcome to elected District Presidents, State Executive Members, and other representatives, congratulating them on their roles. He reflected on BJD’s governance from 2000 to 2024, describing it as a “golden era” for Odisha’s development, during which the state emerged as a model for others through pioneering initiatives across various sectors.
Highlighting the party’s organizational strength, Patnaik emphasized that BJD’s workers are its true assets, driven by high spirits and guided by the party’s principles. “Our policies and ideals are our strength,” he declared, pledging that BJD would continue serving Odisha’s people, whether in government or not.
Patnaik addressed the party’s narrow defeat in the last election, despite securing more popular votes, attributing it to an inability to counter false narratives effectively. He urged members to adopt a proactive approach, particularly on social media, to combat misinformation. “Technology is essential to communicate facts and reach the people,” he stressed, calling for a stronger digital presence.
The BJD president outlined the party’s focus on empowering women, farmers, youth, workers, and tribal communities, alongside regional development. He reiterated BJD’s unwavering commitment to Odisha’s interests, pride, and rights, vowing to continue the fight for Odia identity and self-respect.
Expressing confidence in BJD’s workers, Patnaik said, “Our brothers and sisters will carry the message of our service to every village and city, giving a fitting response to false propaganda.” His address concluded with a resolute commitment to uphold Biju Patnaik’s ideals and serve Odisha relentlessly.
