Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and BJD President Naveen Patnaik is all set to return to Odisha on July 12, following a successful recovery from cervical spine surgery.
He is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 1.00 PM on July 12.
Patnaik was discharged from Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on July 7, after undergoing the procedure on June 22.
During his hospital stay, Patnaik expressed gratitude to the medical team and supporters for their prayers and well-wishes. “Heartfelt thanks to everyone from Odisha and outside for their wishes and prayers for my health,” he said in a post-discharge message.
Patnaik will continue his physiotherapy in Mumbai before heading back to Odisha. In his absence, a 15-member committee led by BJD Vice-President Debi Prasad Mishra was overseeing party affairs.
Patnaik’s recovery and return are expected to boost the party’s morale and activities in the state.
