Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is the third richest among the 30 Chief Ministers of the states and Union Territories (UTs) in the country, according to a report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) released on Wednesday.
According to the ADR report, Patnaik owns properties worth Rs 63.87 crore, which includes movable assets worth Rs 23,26,555 and immovable assets worth Rs 63,64,15,261.
The ADR said that Patnaik’s self-income is Rs 21.17 lakh, while his liabilities amount to Rs 15 lakh.
As per his declaration of Patnaik regarding movable and immovable properties last year, he has a bank balance of Rs 94.41 lakh as on December 31, 2021. He has bank accounts in SBI’s Janpath, New Delhi branch, Parliament House branch, Bhubaneswar branch and three joint accounts (two in Hinjilicut College Campus branch, Ganjam, and one in Padampur branch, Bargarh, for general elections purposes).
The moveable properties of Patnaik include Post Office Savings of Rs 5,033, fixed deposit of Rs 1.11 crore, RBI bonds of Rs 9 crore, Post Office Term Deposit of Rs 1 crore, jewellery worth Rs 3.45 lakh and an Ambassador car (1980 model) worth Rs 6,434.
Patnaik’s immovable assets include a two-thirds share in ‘Naveen Niwas’ worth around Rs 9,52,46,190 and a 50% share in a property situated at 3, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi, worth about Rs 43,36,18,000. Both properties are inherited.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh CM Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy has been ranked as the richest Chief Minister with total assets worth over Rs 510 crore, followed by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu with assets worth more than Rs 163 crore.
