Bhubaneswar: As Odisha’s four-time Chief Minister-cum-BJD chief Naveen Patnaik has felt the right pulse of being techno savvy, he is being noticed these days trying his level best to utilize technology in an optimal and judicious manner.

Thus, his numero uno mantra of 3Ts (Technology, Teamwork & Transparency) abuzz in his present stint of governance and thus appears to be his new success mantra of direct-people-connect paving path for being worth enough to be of the people, by the people and for the people.

The glaring instances are his brainchild ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ (Odisha Government’s flagship rural development programme), ‘Krushi Karmashala’ (workshop for farmers) and Mission Shakti Workshop (training and awareness among women self help groups).

The ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme, being held on weekly basis, has been bearing fruit every passing day as the Chief Minister along with his administrative machinery and the rural populace are not only having a direct link with each other, but also development agenda is being expedited and implemented on the spot.

It evinces that Naveen’s 3Ts mantra is meaningfully materialized through this programme as ‘Technology’ is directly connecting him with the people as well as giving vent to their needs and problems. ‘Teamwork’ is being exhibited by the administrative machinery, elected representatives and direct participation of the people. Above all, fund sanctioned instantly for the projects on public demand is evident of ‘Transparency’.

Since agriculture is the chief occupation and the farmers constitute a major chunk of our State’s population, the State Government has started bracing up the backbone of our food providers by arming them with the knowledge of modern farm techniques and other facilities.

But the icing on the cake is Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik interacting with the farmers from across the State soon after their workshop sessions are over in turn. This is being seen as a confidence building measures of the regional satrap among the farmers, who, despite suffering from the onslaught of natural calamities and pest attack, are now apparently optimistic of a fair future and dignified life.

It is a well-known fact that lakhs of women self help groups (SHGs) have been formed under the ongoing Mission Shakti programme and the financially empowered lakhs of women, both from the rural and urban pockets, have been the solid and assured vote-banks of the ruling BJD led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Venting his views on it, senior journalist and political analyst Rabi Das stated, “The general elections are imminent. Last Panchayat poll result revealed that anti-incumbency is brewing among the mass. It necessitated establishing direct link with the people. For this reason he (Naveen Patnaik) has been maintaining a direct link with the people.”

“Despite being his critic, I have never noticed his vested interests as found common in the politicians. But he very well knows the poll tactics and strategies. He is also reaping the full benefits from TINA (there is no alternative) factor,” Das remarked.

He added, “He has power, structure and resources which are being wisely and timely harnessed by him before the general elections.”

In his reactions, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra said, “Since Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is at the helms of Odisha’s affairs, he often believes in one-to-one interaction. The Ama Gaon Ama Bikash is an example of it. Similarly, the farmers who are participating here in the training programme are everyday meeting the Chief Minister at Naveen Niwas and both the sides are exchanging views. Same is the case with the women of Mission Shakti.”

“It is evident that Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Babu is always close to the people. He also believes in expediting the development of Odisha and its people. Thus, he has opted for the personal interaction with the people so that he could know better their feelings and feel their pulse for better governance,” the BJD spokesperson averred.
