Bhubaneswar: The vibrant city of Puri is buzzing with excitement as it is all set to host the Indian Navy’s spectacular show at the stunning Blue Flag Beach today at 3:45 pm. This event is part of the Navy Day celebrations, which commemorate the Indian Navy’s pivotal role in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
As the crowd gathers at the Blue Flag Beach, they will witness a breathtaking display of the Indian Navy’s maritime prowess. The event will feature a host of thrilling activities, including a bomb burst maneuver, submarine sail past, MARCOS (marine commandos) demo, MIG 29K demo, anti-submarine firing, anti-air firings, amphibious demo, combat free fall, and horn pipe dance.
The Navy Day celebrations will be an unforgettable experience as Indian Navy is all set to demonstrate a series of awe-inspiring demonstrations showcasing the naval forces’ capabilities on Puri coast. At least 15 majestic warships and 40 aircraft will take part in the grand event.
Adding to the prestige, President Droupadi Murmu has graciously consented to be the chief guest, lending her esteemed presence to the occasion.
Thrilling Aerial Displays
The event will feature separate shows by the carrier-based MIG-29K aircraft, known for their exceptional maneuverability and firepower. Additionally, the MH-60 R multi-role helicopters will take to the skies, demonstrating their versatility and precision.
The Hawk Advanced Jet Trainers (AJTs), also known as Phantoms, are set to dazzle spectators with a demonstration of their ground attack capability. This will be showcased through a thrilling ‘bomb burst’ manoeuvre.
In addition to the Hawk AJTs’ demonstration, the Chetak helicopters will undertake a flypast in banner formation, proudly flying the National Flag and Naval Ensign. Furthermore, a few submarines of the Indian Navy will perform a sail past, adding to the grandeur of the event.
Anti-Submarine Rocket Firing
In a display of its anti-submarine warfare capabilities, the Indian Navy will conduct a live firing demonstration of anti-submarine rockets along the Puri coast. This thrilling display will give spectators a glimpse into the naval forces’ advanced weaponry and tactics.
Amphibious Demo: A Joint Forces Showcase
The main attraction of the Navy Day celebration will be the amphibious demo, featuring all three services of the Indian Armed Forces. This joint demonstration will showcase the seamless coordination and interoperability between the Indian Navy, Army, and Air Force, highlighting their collective strength and capabilities.
Security Beefed-Up
To ensure a hassle-free and secure experience for the thousands of spectators expected to throng the Blue Flag Beach, the Puri Police have put up clear signages at every traffic post. Superintendent of Police, Puri, Vinit Agrawal, has appealed to the public to adhere to the police advisory and extend their cooperation to make the event a resounding success.
For the D-Day, the Puri district administration left no stones unturned to make it a smooth affair.
As per the advisory, all four-wheeler vehicles coming from Bhubaneswar will enter Puri via Malatipatpur and park at Talabania and two-wheelers will park near Hotel Sterling.
Similarly, all vehicles including four-wheelers and two-wheelers coming from Konark side can park at Talabania parking place. Vehicles coming from the Brahmagiri side will also park near hotel Sterling.
The pass holders can park their vehicles at Jail Road and Saradha Bali. Parking arrangements have been made for orange pass holders at Jail Road and Saradha Bali. A makeshift parking lot has been made at Nilachal Ashok and SCS College for blue pass holders.
