Bhubaneswar:    With first phase of polling underway, Naxals triggered an IED blast today morning in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district under Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, reports stated.

While no casualty was reported in the incident, the explosion took place around 4.15 am in Farasgaon area. A team of security men were escorting polling personnel to their booths, when the blast happened from an explosive planted underground.

The Naxal, who were in hiding, fled the spot after the blast.

It is notable to mention here that on April 9, a massive attack has been unleashed by the Left Wing Extremists (LWEs) in which a sitting MLA of Chhattisgarh and five security personnel were killed when the Maoists exploded an improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district.
