Bhubaneswar: President of Biju Mahila Janata Dal-the women wing of the ruling BJD Snehagini Chhuria today labeled the BJP to be at its wits’ end over the progress made in the investigation in the Nayagarh minor girl’s murder case.
“Since whatever they had done or had planned is about to flop, so they are at their wits’ end,” said Chhuria talking to reporters here on her take on BJP State general secretary Lekhashree Samantasinghar questioning the going viral of the video of confession of the prime accused in the Nayagarh minor murder case.
The former Minister and BJD MLA from Attabira said that in the last 21 years Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has time and again proved that no one is above law and will surely be punished for any wrong committed by him/her.
Referring to the Nayagarh minor girl murder case, the Biju Mahila Janata Dal president stated, “Investigation is on and you all know the progress made and the provisions of the law as well”.
Earlier in the day, BJP’s Lekhashree Samantasinghar had raised questions on repeated information leaks by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Nayagarh minor girl’s murder.
Samantasinghar addressing a presser at the saffron party’s State headquarters here questioned the recent leak of confessional statement video of the child in conflict with the law (CCL) and sharing of the first status report of the SIT with the media.
She alleged that the SIT was waylaying the investigation in the case and is trying to protect the real accused.
Quoting the deceased minor girl’s mother questioning the SIT probe, the BJP leader said that truth will prevail despite all efforts to brush it under the carpet.
She demanded that persons named by the deceased minor girl’s parents should be brought under the purview of investigation.
