Nayagarh Minor Girl Murder Probe: Police Remand Of Accused Begins Today

Bhubaneswar: The three-day remand of the accused in Nayagarh minor girl ‘rape’ and murder case begins today. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be examining the accused, who is likely to be asked to recreate the crime scene. The SIT sleuths are also expected to recce the sensitive areas associated with the crime in Jadupur village with the accused, said sources.

The SIT had produced the accused in Nayagarh POCSO Court on Monday evening where the former was allowed a 3-day remand. The SIT had also ascertained the age of the accused and produced him as a major (18+) in the POCSO court.

On the other hand, the mother of the accused has filed a complaint against the SIT at Nayagarh Sadar police station. “They have framed my son in a false case. He is innocent,” she said. The SIT is scheduled to hold a press conference today morning pertaining to the case.
