Cuttack: Even though the Odisha Government has announced a Crime Branch enquiry into the controversial murder case of Pari, a five-year-old girl of Nayagarh district, Bharatiya Bikash Parishad today filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Orissa High Court praying for an impartial enquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The PIL has also prayed the High Court for ordering a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the bereft parents of the girl child.
The PIL has made the State Home Principal Secretary, Chief Secretary, DGP, Nayagarh SP and Nayagarh Sadar PS IIC as opposite parties.
Talking to media, High Court lawyer Gopal Prasad Jena said, “We have filed a PIL today on behalf of Bharatiya Bikash Parishad. We have prayed the court for ordering a probe by the CBI. We have also prayed for Rs 25 lakh compensation to the family.”
“In this case, the decomposed body of a five-year-old girl of Jadupur in Nayagarh was found in a gunny bag after 15 days she went missing. No body parts were found then. We suspect of a kidney or eye theft racket. If the guilty is not punished, the law and order situation would go awry in future,” he commented.
He also informed that the Union of India has been made a party apart from the Principal Secretary, Home Department, DGP, SP, Nayagarh, SDPO, Nayagarh and IIC Nayagarh.
