Nayagarh: In the latest development of the sensational Pari Murder Case, the State Government-formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) yesterday conducted raid on prime suspect Babuli Nayak’s house in presence of SIT chief Arun Bothra while Bothra himself quizzed Nayak and his son.
Sources said that SIT head and his sleuths checked all the rooms in the three-storeyed building belonging to Babuli.
Bothra also interrogated Babuli and his son for about an hour.
Besides, the SIT also collected details of the vehicles owned by Babuli and the whereabouts of his drivers.
Basing on Babuli’s inputs to the SIT, one of his drivers, named Bijay Behera, was reportedly picked up from his house in Itamati area for interrogation.
Initially, the SIT chief examined Bijay at the Circuit House here.
Later, he was further examined by a team of officers in the Town Police Station (PS) for about two hours.
Notably, the case has been rocking the entire State soon after the deceased five-year-old girl’s bereft parents tried to self-immolate themselves before the Assembly in session recently demanding justice. Even the opposition, especially the BJP, has been baying for the scalp of Nayagarh MLA-cum-Odisha Minister Arun Sahoo alleging his involvement in the heinous crime.
