Nayagarh: In a shocking incident, a woman killed her husband Prakash Nayak, and buried him in their home in Komanda village under Odagaon police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district at least 20 days ago. The body was exhumed by the police on Thursday while the accused woman Jyotsna Rani Nayak, her mother Damani, and lover Sonu Behera have been detained.

Although the incident took place 20 days ago, it came to light when Prakash’s father Gokul Nayak filed an FIR at the Odagoan police station alleging that his missing son was killed by his daughter-in-law Jyotsna. Acting on the basis of the FIR, police launched an investigation into the matter and dug up the floor of the couple’s house to exhume his body in the presence of a magistrate. Before exhuming the body, the police recreated the crime scene based on Preeti’s confession.

The police are, however, yet to ascertain the reason behind the crime and are currently interrogating Jyotsna Nayak and the two other accused. A scientific team is assisting the police in the investigation.

Meanwhile, a platoon of police force has been deployed at Komanda village to maintain the law and order situation in the area.
