Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday arrested Nayagarh District Sub-Registrar Saswat Kumar Pattanaik for alleged possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 79 per cent of his known sources of income, according to an official press release.
Pattanaik was forwarded to court today, the release added.
During house searches, Vigilance officials unearthed one double-storeyed building in Kendrapara town; another double-storeyed building at Talagaon in Kendrapara district; six plots in and around Cuttack, Jatni, Khordha and Kendrapara towns; advance of Rs 6,54,500 paid by Pattanaik to two realtors for purchase of land in his name; one four wheeler; and three two-wheelers in the name of Pattanaik and his family members.
Vigilance has registered a case against Pattanaik at Bhubaneswar Vigilance police station under sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(b)of the PC Amendment Act of 2018.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, the release added.
