NCST Chairman Meets Bereft Kin of Kandhamal Firing Victims

**Bhubaneswar/Phulbani:** National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) Chairman Rameswar Oraon is reportedly interacting with the kin of the tribals killed in the firing of security forces during an anti-Maoists combing operation at Gumudumaha in Kandhamal district on July 8 night.

After arriving at Bhubaneswar on Tuesday afternoon, the NCST Chairman drove straight to Phulbani accompanied by NCST Secretary Anil Agarwal and Director RK Dubey and spent the night there.

As per reports, Oraon has already started interacting with the kin of the killed tribals at Baliguda and their statements are being recorded.

The aggrieved family members of all the victims were taken by the district administration to Baliguda on Tuesday itself of this purpose.

The NCST Chairman is also scheduled to meet senior government officers, including Odisha Chief Secretary, Director-General of Police and Home Secretary in Bhubaneswar later on the day.
