Bhubaneswar: Amid the increasing threat of Omicron variant of the coronavirus, the daily count of Covid-19 cases in the city crossed the 100 mark after a gap of 13 days with the detection of 112 new cases.
The last time the city’s daily count of Covid-19 cases had crossed the 100 mark was on December 19 last year.
According to the information shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday, out of the 112 new cases, 98 were local contact cases while 14 were quarantine cases.
With 104 recoveries from Covid-19 recorded in the city during the last 24 hours, there are 769 active cases and the cumulative total of Covid cases in the city has reached 1, 23,801.
As on date, a total of 1099 lives have been lost in the city to Covid-19.
