Bhubaneswar: As had been assured earlier by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, the New Delhi Rajdhani Express is all set to commence its operations shortly.
As per media reports, New Delhi Rajdhani Express (Train No. 22811/22812) will run via Sambalpur once a week in near future.
This was reportedly informed by the Railway Minister in his letter written to Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who hails from Odisha.
In his letter to Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal mentioned, "I'm happy to inform you that in deference to your request, we shall shortly start running Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (Train No. 22811/22812) via Sambalpur once a week. Incidentally, hon'ble Chief Minister, Odisha had come to my office yesterday and he also reiterated your demand. As the decision based on your letters was already approved on file only, I was able to convey to him that this demand has already been accepted."
On September 28 also the Railway Minister after his meeting with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the national capital had informed media that the rail commuters in Odisha have something to cheer about as the Ministry of Railways was about to introduce soon a new Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express which would run via Sambalpur.
