New Political Party ‘Odisha Ganatantrik Samukhya’ Formed

**Bhubaneswar:** As general elections 2019 is a few months ahead, a new regional outfit christened ‘Odisha Ganatantrik Samukhya’ has been formed in which former Member of Parliament (MP) Braja Kishore Tripathy’s Samata Kranti Dal and another former MP Kharavela Swain’s Utkal Bharat have been merged.

This was announced by both the Tripathy and Swain at a press meet here in the capital city of Odisha aiming to dethrone BJD from power . They also claimed that the front will give candidates in every constituency across the State in the ensuing polls and form the next Government by winning the maximum seats.

If voted to power, they have announced to work for industrial growth, unemployment problems, farmers’ issues, quality primary and higher education, emboldening law and order situation and above all, provide Odisha with good governance.

Former Union Minister and Samata Kranti Dal chief Braja Kishore Tripathy in his reactions said, “Since long Samata Kranti Dal was trying to build a power by knitting together all small parties. Now election is nearing. Hence, we two parties (Samata Kranti Dal and Utkal Bharat) formed a front. Inviting other like-minded parties in future, we will be fighting the election.”

“I believe that the wave of change that is pervading will make us play a major role. The people will certainly effect the change through us,” he stated.

Utkal Bharat chief Kharavela Swain said, “The Odisha Ganatantrika Samukhya has formed by Samata Kranti Dal and Utkal Bharat. We invite all other small parties. Let them join hands with us and for the interests and development of Odisha as well as toppling this government.”

On the contrary, ruling BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra reacted, “I had heard a few days ago that Sri Braja Tripathy and Sri Damodar Rout had formed a front. Today it is being said that Braja Babu and Kharabela Babu are forming a front. So Braja Babu should first decide he belongs to which front, with Dama Babu or Kharabela Babu?”

“When the election is around, many fronts like this come and go. The people of Odisha have been reposing trust on Naveen Babu and also continue to do so. Hence, there will be no impact on BJD’s prospect,” the party spokesperson asserted.
